He is currently employed as a Senior Internal Consultant at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield where he performs business valuations and due diligence on new ventures. He spends most of his time preparing financial forecasts, evaluating internal controls, and designing financial structures. Steven has spent over twelve years in the healthcare insurance industry.
Before working in health insurance, Steven worked in various accounting management positions in the oilfield services industry and in investments. His career started in the defense industry where he spent over a decade in not only accounting and finance, but also engineering.

Matt Flora

Matt Flora currently serves as the director of Medical Informatics for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Medical Informatics is the primary source of data analytics and reporting to support the management of employer sponsored health plans and various operational areas within the company.
In recent years, Medical Informatics has also provided the analytics to support the development of multiple provider payment initiatives, includes episodes of care, patient centered medical homes, and accountable care organizations.
Matt has been with Arkansas Blue Cross since 2005 with positions including statistician in the Medicare Integrity Program, in addition to the various analytics roles within Medical Informatics. He is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a master’s degree in statistics from the University of Arkansas.

Dr. John Brineman

Dr. Brineman is currently in his fourth year with ABCBS.
Dr. Brineman graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1977 with a BS in Biology and received his MD from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1980. He did an internship in neurology at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, followed by two years of service as an Army General Medical Officer in Germany, the latter inclusive of assignment to the First Infantry Division (the “Big Red One”). Subsequently he completed a residency in pathology at Walter Reed Army Center and is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Following service as a staff pathologist at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Dr. Brineman left the Army in 1989 to begin private practice as a pathologist in Little Rock, AR. Dr. Brineman facilitated a merger with another local pathology group and served on multiple hospital and professional committees during his time as president of his practice group.
Dr. Brineman’s practice in pathology included a special interest in hematopathology. In the latter capacity he started the first community-practice laboratory in the state of AR for the application of DNA probes to the diagnosis of hematologic neoplasms. Dr. Brineman was been involved in several Laboratory Information System implementations during his career in laboratory medicine.
Dr Brineman re-entered military service as an Army Reserve Officer following 9-11 and was deployed to Iraq in 2008 and 2011. He retired from the Army as a Colonel in FEB2015.
Dr. Brineman’s duties at ABCBS include, inter alia, service on the Health Care Reform Steering Committee, the Provider Reimbursement Committee, the Exchange Working Group Leads Committee, and the Exchange/Private Option Medical Management Committee. He also serves on the enterprise Diversified Ventures team.
Dr. Brineman has a long-standing interest in health care IT and is currently working on two IT projects at ABCBS. He is also beginning development work on a project concept for both Android and iOS platforms.

Ken Pearson

Ken graduated from Hendrix College in 1980 with a B.A. in Economics and Business, was licensed as a CPA in 1984 and obtained his M.B.A. from Webster University in 2004. He continued his academic endeavors in 2005 by completing the “Emerging Leaders Program” at the University of Arkansas’ “Center for Management and Executive Development”.
The first six years of Ken’s professional experience were spent in public accounting. This was followed by a year as an auditor for the Arkansas Insurance Department. Ken began his tenure with Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1987 as a senior financial analyst. He has held multiple positions in both the parent company and its subsidiaries. Ken currently serves as Director, Capital Management for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. In this role his responsibilities include oversight & management of the enterprise’s investment portfolio, facilities, corporate insurance program (excluding employee benefits), purchasing and capital planning.
Ken’s professional certifications/designations include Certified Public Accountant, Fellow, Life Management Institute and Associate, Risk Management. In addition he has served as an adjunct professor in financial management for John Brown University.

David Greenwood

David Greenwood has executive responsibility for the Enterprise Business Intelligence and Arkansas Health Information Network (AHIN) operations of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Enterprise Business Intelligence was established in response to the rising demand for rapid access to high-quality, uniformly governed data and the reporting built from that data. The emphasis of the EBI area is on managing the enterprise’s data assets so that users of historical data can increase their efficiency in serving customers’ needs by being able to access, understand, and rely on the data they need. AHIN, LLC, performs the functions of a clearinghouse and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations for Arkansas Blue Cross and its family of companies as well as external parties. AHIN also creates and maintains the Personal Health Record (PHR) for health plan members and provides billing and consulting services for providers.
David has been with Arkansas Blue Cross since 1988 with positions including auditor, manager of Medicare Program/Joint Venture Accounting and director of Enterprise Underwriting. He is a graduate of Arkansas State University and a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in business administration/management from Webster University.

Dr. Cal Kellogg

Cal Kellogg’s enterprise responsibilities include oversight of sales and marketing, provider networks, pharmacy and reimbursement, clinical affairs and medical management, business intelligence and development, strategic and annual planning, executive and organizational development, corporate incentives and enterprise project management.
Kellogg joined Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1995 as director of Plan Development and Integration. He was promoted to vice president of Enterprise Development Services in 1997 and, in 2009, was named senior vice president of Strategy Development and chief strategy officer.
Prior to joining Arkansas Blue Cross, he served in various administrative and teaching roles at Arkansas Tech University, Illinois State University, the University of Mississippi and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. While at Illinois State he was one of the founders of the Technology Commercialization Center funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and Doctor of Philosophy in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Kellogg is the former chairman of the board for the Governor’s Quality Award, is a member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Executive Forum Advisory Council, and serves on the Association of Health Insurance Plans Executive Education Advisory board. He currently serves as a member of the Arkansas Data Transparency Initiative Board.

Dr. Randal Hundley

Dr. Randal Hundley joined ABCBS in 2013 as a medical director. He works primarily in the area of clinical quality, patient-centered medical home (PCMH), value-based payment reform, telemedicine, and medical review. Prior to joining ABCBS, he was medical director for Arkansas Health Group, the employed physician arm of Baptist Health. Before that he practiced clinical cardiology until 2008.
Dr. Hundley earned a degree in Chemistry from Hendrix College, and an MD degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He did an internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt, followed by cardiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. In 1985 he entered into the private practice of cardiology in Little Rock, subspecializing in interventional cardiology. In that capacity, he was involved in early and developing applications of coronary stents and other interventional procedures, and he was an investigator in numerous clinical research studies.
